My older step-sister told me about the Ramones, because she’d basically lived the life of “Rock N Roll High School.” As I began to face adolescence a few years later, I thought maybe I should move to South Central Los Angeles, where this film was shot, and have a punk fantasy teen life. Years later, I was honored to play on stage with Marky Ramone himself. Playing those songs live is like jumping onto a moving train that’s already going 120 miles an hour.
